A quick Reference Guide to help us sell your horse

A picture says 1,000 words

This has never rang more true than when you’re selling horses. Our success in marketing your Gypsy Vanner horse depends on our quality and true representation in photography and video.

If your horse is here with us, we will insure that these standards are followed. But if your horse is staying with you, we are relying on your supplied photos and video. Please help us help you by taking a look at our suggestions here, and put in the extra effort to make the best impression possible for your Gypsy Vanner.

Required Media for New Submissions

Still photos

High resolution, at least 300 pixels wide or tall.
Do not crop (we’ll do that). Leave plenty of space around the horse.
IMPORTANT: Groom your horse, bathe if necessary. Your equipment should also be clean and in good working order. Leather halters preferred, or dark/black nylon/rope. We don’t want to detract from the horse.
Near and off-side conformation photos: stand the horse square on level ground. If on grass, please have it recently mowed or at least not above the pasterns.

Moving photos
Any additional photos are encouraged.

Video

High resolution (4k or highest setting on your camera/phone)
If shooting with a smartphone, hold it HORIZONTALLY in a wide frame format.
Walk away and then back toward the camera
Walk a straight line both directions, shot from the side
Trot a straight line both directions, shot from the side
Canter both directions (if applicable)
If horse is trained, footage of them riding, driving or longlining is a plus. Have videographer stand in the center of the ring.
If horse is young or untrained, shoot from inside a 1-2 acre or other small paddock and try to get all three gaits.
PLEASE no filters, music, or other editing.
