2004 ~ 2015 Black Stallion | GV00222F | Private Treaty
In 2004, Latcho Drom, paired with Shampoo Girl, welcomed the arrival of his first U.S. colt, a solid black. The resulting foal turned into a magnificent stallion, LATCHO DROM’S CAYMUS.
When this exceptional son of Latcho Drom came to Gypsy Gold in the fall of 2006, we were honored and thrilled to incorporate him into our breeding program, standing beside his half-brother, BB King, and his sire, Latcho Drom.
Caymus quickly proved to be a notable sire, with Champion fillies HH Ebony Rose and SGV Ivy Rose to his credit, as well as the good gelding, GG Jonah. At the time of his sale, Jonah was the highest priced gelding to go through The American Ranch Trail Sale, selling for an impressive $40,000!
The loss of his sire was a difficult one for us in 2014, but to lose this incredible son less than a year later was devastating.
Fortunately for us and the breed, he left behind a legacy of get to carry forward his disposition, character, trainability, and type. We are proud to stand his grandson, BPF Little Big Man, here at Gypsy Gold!
