GG VERSACE was an exceptional stallion who we added to our lineup as a five-year-old. There was no mistaking who his sire was—Latcho Drom—who he greatly favored. Versace’s dam, Crown Darby, was one of our very best mares.
Versace was very photogenic, and had the electrifying presence that a successful stallion needs to charm both human and equine. While his markings resembled his sire, Versace’s presence reminded us most of his grandsire, The Gypsy King.
Versace’s star was one that rose and passed too quickly, taken from us in his prime. He sired 10 foals during his time here. We have kept his son, MMV’s Sharp Dressed Man, to continue on as part of our breeding program.
